RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesian men’s singles shuttler Prahdiska Bagas Shujiwo has set his sights on the Taipei Open 2026 crown, but insists he will stay focused on each match to avoid unnecessary pressure.
“My target is to win the title, but I must stay focused and give my best step by step,” Prahdiska said in a statement released by the Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI) from Jakarta on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, as quoted by Antara.
The 21‑year‑old advanced to the second round after edging Finland’s seasoned campaigner Kalle Koljonen 21‑15, 15‑21, 21‑19 in a tense 32‑minute battle at Taipei Arena on Thursday. Despite losing the second game, Prahdiska regrouped and shifted to a more aggressive tempo in the decider to secure victory.
“He’s far more experienced, so I tried to play with a nothing‑to‑lose mindset while staying confident,” Prahdiska explained. “At the end of the third game, I had to attack first because of his power.”
The win makes Prahdiska one of Indonesia’s key hopes in the men’s singles draw. He will next face Malaysia’s Justin Hoh in the round of 16, aiming to maintain his fearless approach while chasing his championship dream. ***
