RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - ONIC Esports launched their Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Mid Season Cup (MSC) campaign at the Esports World Cup 2026 in Paris with a convincing 2–0 sweep of Latin American representative Entity7 in the Group Stage opener on Thursday, July 23,
The Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Indonesia Season 17 runner‑up dominated the best‑of‑three series to secure a place in the upper bracket of the Group Stage and strengthen their chances of advancing to the Knockout Stage.
"Playing in MPL and then stepping into international tournaments feels very different in terms of rotations and hero choices. The gap is huge, so we have to adapt quickly and stay alert,” said ONIC star Sanz after the match, as quoted by Antara.
In Game 1, ONIC seized control early with aggressive rotations that left Entity7 struggling to respond. Sanz’s Eudora pick disrupted the opponent’s mobility, while Kiboy and teammates consistently won objective battles.
The turning point came when Filipino jungler Kairi delivered a wipeout and capped his performance with a savage, sealing the first game for ONIC.
The momentum carried into Game 2, where Kiboy’s disciplined playmaking, supported by rotations from Sanz, Kairi, and Lutpi, kept Entity7 under pressure from the opening minutes.
A widening gold and level gap prevented the Latin American side from finding any comeback opportunities. ONIC closed out the second game in just 11 minutes to complete the clean sweep.
The result provides ONIC with a strong foundation heading into the remainder of the Group Stage, which follows a double‑elimination format. The top four teams from each group will advance to the Knockout Stage, while those finishing fifth to eighth will be eliminated. ***
