RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesia’s campaign at the Asian U19 and U23 Boxing Championships 2026 gained fresh momentum as two young female fighters secured places in the finals, raising hopes of gold medals for the host nation.

Anggie Intania Chalik and Dira Artika delivered hard‑fought victories in their respective semifinal bouts on Monday, July 13, 2026, at Gelora Bung Karno Basketball Hall in Senayan, Central Jakarta, Antara reported.

Anggie, competing in the U19 women’s light flyweight division, edged Japan’s representative with a narrow 3–2 decision. She will next face India’s Gunjan, who advanced after a 5–0 win over Kazakhstan’s Madira Zhumakan.

Meanwhile, Dira Artika triumphed in the U19 women’s featherweight semifinal against Kazakhstan’s Aknur Tursyngali, also by a 3–2 split decision. Her final opponent will be India’s Prachi, who defeated Kyrgyzstan’s Nurperi Makeshova.

Both finals are scheduled for Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at 1 p.m. local time.

Beyond the women’s success, Indonesia still has chances to add more finalists. Two male boxers -- Joshua Toni Marties Lahin (lightweight) and Viktor Wengkang (welterweight) -- were set to fight their semifinals later in the evening.

Victories would further strengthen Indonesia’s medal prospects in front of the home crowd.

The progress of Anggie and Dira underscores the growing strength of Indonesia’s women’s boxing program, which has steadily gained recognition in regional competitions.

Their performances also highlight the resilience of young athletes competing under pressure, with the finals offering a chance to translate promise into podium glory. ***
