RRI.CO.ID, Krakow - Indonesian climber Desak Made Rita Kusuma Dewi won the women's speed gold medal at the 2026 World Climbing Series Krakow. The final took place in Krakow, Poland, on Saturday, July 4, 2026, featuring the world's leading speed climbers.
She secured victory after posting the fastest time of 6.54 seconds in the four-lane final. She finished ahead of Poland's Natalia Kalucka and American climber Emma Hunt to claim the championship title.
Kalucka earned the silver medal after recording 6.62 seconds in the final race. Hunt completed the podium with 11.37 seconds, securing the bronze medal for the United States.
The victory reinforced Indonesia's reputation as one of the world's strongest speed climbing nations. It also marked Indonesia's only gold medal at the tournament in Krakow.
Indonesia concluded the competition with four medals across five speed disciplines contested from July 3 to 5. The national team collected one gold, one silver, and two bronze medals, finishing third in the overall standings.
Besides winning the individual gold, Desak also captured silver in the mixed relay with Antasyafi Robby Al Hilmi. She later added bronze in the women's relay alongside Rajiah Sallsabillah, completing an outstanding campaign.
Indonesia's remaining medal came from Raharjati Nursamsa, who claimed bronze in the men's speed event. His podium finish completed Indonesia's four-medal haul in the prestigious international competition.
The Indonesian team fielded seven climbers across individual and relay speed events throughout the tournament. The overall result provided strong momentum as Indonesia prepares for upcoming international climbing competitions.
