RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Indonesian women’s 3x3 basketball team saw their historic run at the 2026 Asian Beach Games come to an end after a 10-21 defeat to Taiwan in the Round of 16 at the Sanya Sports Centre Gymnasium, China, on Tuesday, April 28, 2026.
The Indonesian squad, featuring Dewa Ayu Made Sriartha Kusuma, Diva Intan Nur, and Angelica Jennifer Candra, struggled to contain Taiwan’s offensive rhythm. Dewa Ayu led Indonesia’s scoring with four points, while Diva Intan and Angelica Jennifer each contributed three, Antara reported.
For Taiwan, Chun-Hsi Chiu dominated the game with eight points, supported by Chen-I Li who added six, securing a comfortable win and progression to the next round.
Despite the loss, Indonesia had already made history by reaching the knockout stage for the first time in the Asian Beach Games 3x3 basketball competition.
Their qualification came after a 17-12 win over Macau, where Diva Intan starred with eight points, following an earlier 16-11 victory against Kyrgyzstan in the group stage.
While the women’s team ended their campaign in the Round of 16, they still marked Indonesia’s best-ever performance in the tournament’s 3x3 basketball event this year.
In contrast, the men’s team had a difficult run, failing to advance from the group stage after losses to Mongolia (12-15), Sri Lanka (12-21), and Malaysia (11-22). ***
