RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Indonesian women’s national field hockey team has officially qualified for the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games. The squad secured their spot after a decisive 3-1 victory over Sri Lanka in their second Pool B qualifying match at the Gelora Bung Karno Hockey Field on Friday night, April 24, 2026.

Salma Maulani led the scoring with two goals, while Dea Destian added a third via a clinical penalty corner. Sri Lanka managed to pull one back through Samadari Kumari, but it was not enough to stop the Indonesian side's momentum.

This victory guarantees Indonesia a top-two finish in Pool B, sending them to the qualifying semifinals alongside Singapore. Indonesia currently leads the group standings based on goal difference (+3) over Singapore, though both teams remain undefeated with six points each.

Kazakhstan and Sri Lanka have been eliminated from contention following two consecutive losses.

The Asian Games 2026 qualifying tournament provides four tickets to Japan. While Indonesia and Singapore have secured the first two, the remaining two spots are still being contested in Pool A between Bangladesh, Chinese Taipei, and Uzbekistan.

The 2026 Asian Games are scheduled to take place from September 19 to October 4 in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan.
