RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Indonesian national 3x3 basketball team heads to the Asian Beach Games 2026 in Sanya, China, with two clear objectives: to deliver strong results and to build momentum ahead of the Asian Games later this year.

Coach Gandi Andika Ramadhani emphasized the dual mission in Jakarta on Monday, April 20, 2026, noting that the squad is designed to balance experience with youth. “We want to achieve the best possible performance in Sanya while also strengthening our foundation for the Asian Games 2026,” he said, as quoted by Antara.

The roster includes eight players -- four men and four women selected by the Indonesian Basketball Association (Perbasi).

The men’s team features seasoned names such as Ebrahim Lopez Enguio, known as Biboy, who previously represented Indonesia at the SEA Games, and Nickson Damara Gosal, a 3x3 specialist from West Nusa Tenggara.

They are joined by younger talents Halmaheranno Lolaru Hady and Jonathan Patrick Alex, both of whom bring international youth competition experience.

On the women’s side, the team blends rising players with veteran leadership. Dewa Ayu Made Sriartha Kusuma Dewi, a gold medalist at the 2025 SEA Games, is expected to mentor younger teammates Berlian Yesi Tri Utari, Diva Intan Nur Fadillah, and Angelica Jennifer Candra.

Coach Gandi acknowledged the challenges ahead but expressed confidence in the team’s composition.

“This mix of senior and junior players gives us strength for now and for the future. We are motivated to compete at our best in Sanya and to ensure Indonesia’s 3x3 basketball remains competitive on the global stage,” he concluded.

The team is officially released on Monday, April 20, before departing for Sanya on April 23. The competition runs from April 25 to 28. ***
