RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI) has officially released the national team set to compete at the prestigious Thomas and Uber Cup 2026, which will take place in Horsens, Denmark, from April 24 to May 3.

The squad is scheduled to depart for Denmark on Thursday, April 16, to undergo centralized training and final preparations ahead of the tournament. PBSI Chairman Fadil Imran described the send-off as more than just a ceremonial moment.

“The release of the Thomas and Uber Cup team is not only the start of their journey, but also a symbol of unity for the entire Indonesian badminton family. We believe that the team’s strength comes not only from training and strategy, but also from trust and solidarity,” he said in a statement on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, as quoted by Antara.

Fadil emphasized that badminton holds a special place in Indonesia’s identity, serving as a source of pride and joy for the nation. He also expressed appreciation for the coaches and support staff who have worked tirelessly to prepare the athletes both technically and mentally.

“With thorough preparation and strong team spirit, we are optimistic that Indonesia will deliver its best performance and once again bring honor to the country,” he concluded.

In the group stage, Indonesia’s Thomas Cup team will compete in Group D alongside France, Thailand, and Algeria. Meanwhile, the Uber Cup team has been drawn into Group C with Chinese Taipei, Canada, and Australia. ***
