RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesia is stepping up its athletics development by sending a 15-athlete squad to compete at a regional championship in Singapore, aiming to strengthen international competitiveness and performance.

The Indonesian Athletics Association (PASI) has deployed 15 athletes to compete at the Singapore Open Track and Field Championships 2026, a major athletics competition organized by Singapore Athletics, scheduled for April 15–17, 2026 at the Singapore Sports Hub (National Stadium, Kallang).

In a statement shared on its official social media account on Monday, April 13, PASI said participation in the regional event is a strategic opportunity to evaluate training outcomes.

The competition is also expected to help athletes gain valuable international exposure and sharpen their readiness for higher-level events.

The Indonesian contingent includes 15 athletes, accompanied by five coaches and three support staff. The team departed for Singapore on Monday, April 13, and is scheduled to return on April 18, Antara reported.

Daniel Simanjuntak (North Sumatra) - 5,000m and 10,000m

Grisha Imanuela (Maluku) - 200m

Shava Salvia Waranggani (Central Java) - 100m and 200m

Nela Agustin (North Sumatra) - 100m and 200m

Brian Bagas Swara (East Java) - 110m hurdles

Yad Hafizudin (West Nusa Tenggara) - 1,500m

Maulana Ismail (East Java) - 400m

Gilang Satria Wibawa (East Java) - 200m

Galuh Candra Hidayat (Lampung) - 800m

Novi Anggun Lestari (Lampung) - 400m

Pandu Sukarya (West Java) - 3,000m

Idan Fauzan Richsan (West Java) - pole vault and 110m hurdles

Atinna Nurkamalia Intan (Central Java) - javelin throw

Maria Natalia Londa (Bali) - triple jump

PASI noted that the event will serve as a platform for athletes to increase competition exposure and refine their performance under international conditions.

The participation follows a series of positive results by Indonesian athletes in March, including a standout performance by Diva Renatta Jayadi, who secured two titles in pole vault events in Taiwan with a best jump of 4.20 meters.

The Singapore Open is expected to provide another benchmark for Indonesia’s athletics program as it continues to build toward stronger results on the global stage. ***
