RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesia’s sport climbing team has confirmed a complete lineup in the lead discipline for the 2026 Asian Games in Aichi–Nagoya after Raviandi Ramadhan and Alma Ariella Tsany clinched qualification spots at the World Climbing Asia Championship in Meishan, China, on Sunday, April 12, 2026.
Although both athletes fell short of reaching the finals, their semifinal performances were enough to secure the remaining slots under the rule that limits each country to a maximum of two athletes per event.
Raviandi finished ninth in the men’s lead semifinal with a score of 37+, while Alma also placed ninth in the women’s lead semifinal with 43+, Antara reported. Their results complete Indonesia’s lead roster, joining Putra Tri Ramadani and Sukma Lintang Cahyani, who had already qualified earlier.
Overall, Indonesian lead climbers were unable to break into the final round. In the men’s category, Musauwir placed 12th with 34+, Muhammad Rizky Syahrafli Simatupang 15th with 32+, Mahesa Caesar 20th with 29+, and Muhammad Ramzi Firmansyah 22nd with 29+. In the women’s category, Nur Diatul Jannah finished 22nd with 18+.
Despite missing the finals, the outcome is significant as it ensures Indonesia fills its maximum quota in lead for the Asian Games. This adds to earlier qualifications from speed and boulder events.
In speed, Desak Made Rita Kusuma Dewi won gold and Veddriq Leonardo took bronze, both securing tickets. Additional slots came from Aditya Tri Syahria and Berthdigna Devi Surya Kusuma in speed, while Raviandi Ramadhan and Ravianto Ramadhan qualified in boulder.
With these results, Indonesia now holds eight tickets for the Asian Games 2026: two men’s speed (Veddriq Leonardo, Aditya Tri Syahria), two women’s speed (Desak Made Rita Kusuma Dewi, Berthdigna Devi Surya Kusuma), two men’s lead (Putra Tri Ramadani, Raviandi Ramadhan), two women’s lead (Sukma Lintang Cahyani, Alma Ariella Tsany), and two men’s boulder (Raviandi Ramadhan, Ravianto Ramadhan). ***
