RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesia’s women’s national football team is stepping up its international ambitions after naming a 27-player squad for the FIFA Series Women 2026, set to take place in Thailand from April 12-15, 2-2026.
The team, known as Garuda Pertiwi, has already departed for Ratchaburi as part of its preparations for the tournament, which serves as a key opportunity to measure progress and boost competitiveness on the global stage.
"Garuda Pertiwi’s participation is an important momentum to measure the team’s development while also enhancing its competitiveness at the international level,” the official Kita Garuda official website stated on Friday, April 10, as quoted by Antara.
The squad blends youth and experience, featuring emerging talents such as Gea Yumanda and Jazlyn Kayla, alongside naturalized and diaspora players including Pauline van De Pol, Felicia de Zeeuw, and Isa Warps. They will join established names such as Safira Ika, Helsya Maeisyaroh, Reva Oktaviani, and Sheva Imut.
Indonesia has been drawn into a competitive group alongside the Democratic Republic of the Congo, New Caledonia, and host nation Thailand.
The team is scheduled to open its campaign against DR Congo on April 12. A win would see Indonesia advance to the final on April 15 against either Thailand or New Caledonia.
The squad will once again be led by head coach Satoru Mochizuki, marking his return after previously serving as a technical advisor. Indonesia’s participation follows the men’s team’s appearance in the FIFA Series earlier this year, under coach John Herdman. ***
