RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesian men’s doubles pair Leo Rolly Carnando/Bagas Maulana are using their one-day break at the BWF World Tour Super 300 Orleans Masters 2026 to regroup, recover, and sharpen their game before stepping into the round of 16.

The third-seeded duo secured their spot after defeating Taiwan’s Chen Cheng Kuan/Lin Bing-Wei in straight sets, 21-13, 21-15, at the Palais des Sports in Orléans, France, on Tuesday, March 17, local time.

Bagas stressed the importance of preparation and evaluation. “We still have time to prepare for the round of 16. We’ll train again and review what needs improvement,” he said in a statement released by the Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI), as quoted by Antara.

Bagas noted that adapting to the faster shuttlecock speed compared to previous European tournaments is a key focus. Leo added that their opening victory was crucial for building confidence, despite a shaky start.

“We were trailing early in the match. Then we tried to communicate, focus on fixing our game, and reduce unforced errors. After that, we played more calmly and managed to get out of pressure,” he explained.

The pair’s performance reflects steady progress since their underwhelming run at the Super 1000 All England, followed by improvements at the Super 300 Swiss Open. “Playing is not just about winning or losing, but about how to overcome challenges. Here, we want to do even better,” Leo said.

Leo/Bagas showed resilience by turning the tide in the first game and maintaining control in the second to seal a straight-game win. In the next round, they await the winner of the match between France’s Baptiste Labarthe/Quentin Ronget and Belgium’s Iijo Van Delsen/Yaro Van Delsen. ***
