RRI.CO.ID. Mataram - Preparations for securing the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia (MotoGP) 2026 have entered the final stage. The Chief of the West Nusa Tenggara NTB Regional Police, Inspector General Kalingga Rendra Raharja, led the Troop Deployment Ceremony for Operation Mandalika Rinjani 2026 at the former Selaparang Airport, Mataram, on Monday, October 5, 2026.

The ceremony served as a crucial momentum to ensure the readiness of personnel, facilities and infrastructure, as well as the solidity of all elements involved in securing the international motorcycle racing event, which will be held at the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit, Central Lombok, on October 9-11, 2026.

The event was attended by the Deputy Chief of NTB Police, senior officials of NTB Police, the Governor of NTB, Commander of Military Resort 162/WB, Commander of ZAM Air Base, Commander of Mataram Naval Base, Brimob Commander, Resort Police Chiefs across Lombok Island, Head of NTB Intelligence Agency, NTB Search and Rescue, heads of NTB provincial agencies, President Director of ITDC, MGPA, and public security partners.

In his statement after leading the ceremony, the NTB Police Chief explained that the troop deployment ceremony is an important stage to check the readiness of all elements that will be involved in the operation. “This troop deployment ceremony is important to determine the readiness of all personnel from the stakeholders involved, including the readiness of facilities and infrastructure to support the operation,” the NTB Police Chief stated.

He explained that this year's MotoGP security is packaged in Operation Mandalika Rinjani 2026, a cross-sectoral operation involving various elements to ensure that the entire series of MotoGP events runs safely, smoothly, and conductively. “The operation we are holding this time is named Ops Mandalika Rinjani 2026, which is a cross-sectoral operation for securing the international event Grand Prix of Indonesia (MotoGP) 2026 which will take place from October 9 to 11,” he said.

The security for MotoGP 2026 involves 2,678 joint personnel from various elements, ranging from the National Police, the Indonesian Armed Forces, local governments, related agencies to community elements. Operation Mandalika Rinjani 2026 itself will last for 12 days, from October 5 to 16, 2026, covering the stages before the MotoGP, during the event, and post-event security. According to the Police Chief, cross-sectoral involvement is an important part of ensuring that all aspects of security can run in an integrated manner, considering MotoGP brings not only racing activities but also the movement of tourists, spectators, racers, crews, and various supporting activities.

The NTB Police Chief asked all personnel involved to carry out their duties in accordance with their main duties and functions, emphasizing sincerity, responsibility, and professionalism. “I hope that all personnel involved can carry out this task well according to their duties and functions, based on sincerity and full responsibility, so that this operation truly brings results as expected, namely the successful implementation of MotoGP 2026 safely and smoothly,” he stressed.

The Police Chief considered the MotoGP event as an opportunity for all stakeholders in NTB to demonstrate the region's ability to host an international-scale event. Therefore, the success of securing and organizing MotoGP will not only affect the reputation of NTB, but also bring Indonesia's image to the world. “This is the time for synergy of all stakeholders in NTB to prove that we have the capability as a host for an international event. The success we hope for later will not only be pride for the region and the people of NTB, but also a positive image of the country in the eyes of the international community,” the NTB Police Chief said.
