RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Strengthening cross-sectoral synergy is a crucial step in addressing the threat of narcotics. This point was emphasized by the Head of the National Narcotics Agency (BNN) during a meeting with the Head of the Government Communication Agency of the Republic of Indonesia (Bakom RI) and his team on Tuesday, at the BNN office in Jakarta, Tuesday, September 29, 2026.

During the meeting, BNN Head Suyudi Ario Seto, outlined several of the Agency's flagship programs, such as ANANDA BERSINAR (National Anti-Narcotics Action Starting with Drug-Free Children), the Anti-Narcotics Curriculum Integration (IKAN), mobile rehabilitation services, online tele-rehabilitation, and the BNN Call Center (184).

"We hope the Government Communication Agency can forge a strong synergy in disseminating anti-narcotics messages while also fostering concrete cooperation between BNN and the Agency," said Suyudi Ario Seto, as quoted by the bnn.go.id.

At the meeting, the BNN Head also reiterated the directive issued by the President of the Republic of Indonesia during the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking (HANI) commemoration: that all state elements must not leave BNN to face the narcotics threat alone.

A critical issue currently demanding attention is the circulation of vape products; testing by the BNN Narcotics Laboratory Center has revealed alarming findings. Out of 1,745 vape liquid samples examined, 1,716 tested positive for narcotics and New Psychoactive Substances (NPS), with 1,552 of those samples testing positive for etomidate.

In response, the Head of the Government Communication Agency, Muhammad Qodari, affirmed his commitment to elevating the narcotics issues raised by BNN to a higher level, including advocating for the war on drugs to become a key agenda for the President.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Muhammad Qodari stated that he would immediately hold internal discussions to finalize the form of cooperation with the BNN and follow up on concrete steps that could be taken.
