House Officially Passes the 2027 State Budget Bill into Law

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta – Indonesian House of Representatives officially passed the State Budget Bill (RUU APBN) for Fiscal Year 2027 into law during a Plenary Meeting in Jakarta on Tuesday, September 29, 2026. Minister of Finance, Suahasil Nazara, stated that the 2027 State Budget is designed to remain expansive, collaborative, targeted, and measurable to maintain economic growth while accelerating public welfare improvement while preserving fiscal sustainability.
"Fiscal policy must be present to maintain growth momentum and protect the public while preserving its credibility. The 2027 fiscal policy is designed to remain expansive in a collaborative, targeted, and measurable manner, with a deficit of 2.4 percent of GDP," Suahasil said.
Furthermore, in the 2027 State Budget, state revenues are projected to reach Rp3,435.1 trillion, while state expenditures are estimated at Rp4,106.3 trillion. Meanwhile, financing amounting to Rp671.2 trillion will be carried out in an innovative and measurable way.
The 2027 State Budget architecture is focused on eight National Priority Work Program (PKPN) clusters: food sovereignty; energy and water independence; education; health; downstreaming and industrialization; infrastructure, housing, and disaster resilience; populist economy and village development; and poverty reduction. In addition, there are supporting programs covering defense and security, law enforcement, governance, digitalization, and economic diplomacy.
Moreover, the Minister also emphasized that the 2027 State Budget will continuously represent the state's presence in every pulse of public life. Key allocations include an education budget of Rp824 trillion, a social protection budget of Rp539.7 trillion, and a food security budget of Rp195.3 trillion.
"These figures are not merely fiscal targets. Behind them lies the government's responsibility to maintain development momentum, while ensuring that every rupiah is managed prudently and provides tangible benefits to all Indonesian citizens," he asserted.
Representing the government, Suahasil expressed appreciation to the leadership and all members of the DPR for their support during the discussion process of the 2027 State Budget. According to the Minister of Finance, dynamic and constructive discussions between the government and the DPR RI made the 2027 State Budget architecture more mature and accountable.
