Govt Launches SAPE ULIN to Strengthen Environmental Services in Kalimantan

RRI.CO.ID, Kalimantan – The Ministry of Environment/Environmental Control Agency (KLH/BPLH), through the Kalimantan Center for Environmental Control, launched a virtual integrated public service platform called SAPE ULIN (Environmental Services Facility for Kalimantan) on Friday, September 18, 2026,. Head of Pusdal LH Kalimantan Fitri Harwati said SAPE ULIN was established to reduce bureaucratic barriers, strengthen coordination, and support the development of an Integrity Zone toward a Corruption-Free Area (WBK) in Kalimantan.

“Through this digital transformation, we are streamlining cumbersome bureaucracy, closing gaps for maladministration, and ensuring that every aspect of environmental services operates on a clean and integrity-based system,” Fitri said, as quoted from a press statement by the Ministry of Environment on Monday, September 21, 2026.

SAPE ULIN is designed as a virtual clinic and service platform held every Friday during the third week of each month. The platform provides 14 integrated technical services accessible to local governments, businesses, and the public, with assistance from experts and technical officials from Pusdal LH Kalimantan.

The services include synchronization of programs to control environmental pollution and degradation, technical forum facilitation, coordination of efforts to close open-dumping landfills, environmental compliance guidance for businesses, waste management, and water and air pollution control.

In addition, SAPE ULIN provides guidance on the management of hazardous and toxic (B3) and non-B3 waste, technical guidance on regulations, preparation of Environmental Status Reports, environmental document evaluation, and monitoring of soil and land, ambient air, and water quality.

At its launch, SAPE ULIN held its first interactive discussion titled “The Road to Adipura Through Stakeholder Collaboration,” which discussed the 2026 Adipura assessment mechanism, landfill management, and strengthening the role of businesses.

KLH/BPLH said the platform is expected to serve as a direct consultation channel for local governments without being constrained by distance, while also providing a transparent space for guidance and collaboration among businesses and communities.
