House Approves Ministry of Trade's 2027 Budget of Rp1.56 Trillion

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta – Indonesia's Minister of Trade Budi Santoso expressed his appreciation to Commission VI of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR) for approving the Ministry of Trade’s proposed budget ceiling for 2027 to drive commercial sectors through the ministry's priority programs. This appreciation was conveyed during a working meeting with DPR Commission VI at the DPR Building in Jakarta recently.

"We thank the honorable members of DPR Commission VI for their support regarding the Ministry of Trade's proposed 2027 budget. We will follow up on all the feedback provided during today's meeting," Budi stated.

During the working session, DPR Commission VI approved a budget ceiling of Rp1.56 trillion for the Ministry of Trade for the 2027 fiscal year. This includes an additional allocation of Rp428.71 billion, compared to the ministry's previous indicative ceiling of Rp1.13 trillion for 2027.

"The Ministry of Trade has optimized this additional budget ceiling while strictly adhering to the provisions of the Joint Budget Ceiling Circular Letter," the Minister added.

The composition of the approved budget is dedicated to backing the Ministry of Trade's core priorities. These include Rp91.28 billion for the Domestic Trade Program, Rp120.24 billion for the Foreign Trade Program, and IDR 1.35 trillion for the Management Support Program.

Furthermore, DPR Commission VI expressed its backing for the ministry's proposed budget increase to revitalize public markets. Commission VI member Firnando H. Ganindito noted that market revitalization is a vital necessity for traditional markets throughout Indonesia.

"We support this initiative and will jointly oversee its implementation to ensure this market revitalization becomes a reality," Firnando asserted.

At the working meeting, Minister Budi was accompanied by Vice Minister of Trade Dyah Roro Esti Widya Putri and officials from the ministry. The Chairman of the National Consumer Protection Agency (BPKN), Muhammad Mufti Mubarok, was also in attendance.
