RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta – Perum BULOG continues to strengthen the implementation of the Corn Supply and Price Stabilization (SPHP) program as part of the government's efforts to maintain the availability and affordability of feed corn for livestock farmers. Out of the 2026 SPHP Corn distribution target of 241,199,500 kilograms or approximately 241.2 thousand tons, purchases by cooperatives have reached 159,318,150 kilograms or 159.3 thousand tons, equivalent to 66.05 percent of the target.
This achievement demonstrates that the SPHP Corn program continues to be utilized to support the feed needs of livestock farmers. With recorded daily distributions reaching 259,650 kilograms, approximately 81,881,350 kilograms or 81.9 thousand tons of the program target remain to be actively pushed for completion.
In line with the program's execution, the government has reinforced its support for the livestock sector by authorizing an additional distribution policy of 150,000 tons of SPHP feed corn through December 2026. This policy was established as one of the key outcomes of the Limited Coordination Meeting on Food regarding the Management and Distribution of Government Food Reserves in 2026 held on September 7, 2026.
President Director of Perum BULOG, Ahmad Rizal Ramdhani, emphasized that BULOG is prepared to execute this government policy. He stated that his team will ensure stock readiness and strengthen coordination so that feed corn reaches the program's targeted livestock farmers.
"The realization of SPHP Corn reaching over 66 percent shows that this program remains active and beneficial to livestock farmers. With the policy to distribute an additional 150,000 tons through December 2026, BULOG is ready to carry out the government's assignment and ensure feed corn is available and accessible to farmers in accordance with regulations," Ahmad said in a written press release on Monday, September 14, 2026.
According to him, strengthening SPHP Corn is of vital importance because feed costs represent one of the primary operational components in livestock farming. Therefore, the availability of feed corn at affordable prices is expected to help sustain farmers' business operations while supporting the stability of the food ecosystem from upstream to downstream.
BULOG will continue to coordinate with the National Food Agency, local governments, cooperatives, and related stakeholders to ensure effective and targeted implementation of the SPHP Corn program. By boosting distribution through the end of the year, BULOG remains committed to carrying out the government mandate to maintain feed corn availability and support the sustainability of livestock farmers as a key element of national food stability.
