Suahasil Nazara Officially Inaugurated as Indonesian Minister of Finance

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Suahasil Nazara has officially assumed the role of Indonesian Minister of Finance, succeeding Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa.

President Prabowo Subianto inaugurated Suahasil during a ceremony at the State Palace in Jakarta on Monday, September 14, 2026.

Suahasil’s appointment was formalized through Presidential Decree No. 97P/2026 on the Dismissal and Appointment of the Minister of Finance for the Red and White Cabinet for the remainder of the 2024–2029 term. President Prabowo signed the decree on September 14, 2026.

During the ceremony, Suahasil recited the oath of office, led directly by President Prabowo.

“That I shall be loyal to the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia and shall execute all laws and regulations with the utmost integrity in the service of the nation and the state,” Suahasil declared, as quoted by Antara.

After taking the oath, Suahasil signed the official inauguration record in the presence of President Prabowo, who then extended his congratulations to Suahasil and his family. State officials attending the ceremony also offered their congratulations.

Vice President Gibran Rakabuming and several coordinating ministers from the Red and White Cabinet attended the inauguration.

Suahasil becomes the third Minister of Finance under President Prabowo Subianto, succeeding Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa, who was inaugurated on September 8, 2025, replacing Sri Mulyani Indrawati.

Before his appointment, Suahasil served as Deputy Minister of Finance in both the Red and White Cabinet and the Onward Indonesia Cabinet. He previously headed the Fiscal Policy Agency at the Ministry of Finance, a position he held since 2016. ***
