TNI Promotes Athlete Development through Shooting Tournament

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Indonesian Military (TNI) promotes the development of high-achieving athletes through the 2026 TNI Commander’s Cup Open Shooting Tournament. It has attracted around 800 participants from various backgrounds.
The tournament was held at the 1st Parako Brigade Pasgat Shooting Range in Jakarta on Saturday, September 12, 2026, as part of the celebrations marking the 81st anniversary of the TNI in 2026.
The 2026 TNI Commander’s Cup Open Shooting Tournament was officially opened by Deputy Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Air Force, Vice Marshal Tedi Rizalihadi, representing TNI Chief Commander, General Agus Subiyanto.
In a speech delivered by Tedi, the TNI Commander said the tournament serves as a platform for identifying talented athletes while supporting the development of national sports.
“In accordance with Law Number 11 of 2022 on Sports, the TNI will remain committed to contributing and playing an active role in improving national sports achievements through various sporting events, including this Open Tournament,” the TNI Commander said.
In addition to supporting the improvement of sports achievements, the event also provides an opportunity to strengthen ties among TNI and National Police personnel, members of the public, and shooting clubs.
The 2026 TNI Commander’s Cup Open Shooting Tournament features several categories, including the 20-meter Executive Pistol, 25-meter Precision Pistol, 100-meter Rifle Ring Target Three Positions, 100-meter Rifle Plate Three Positions, and 300-meter Rifle Ring Target Three Positions.
The competition also includes the IPSC Level II category, featuring 12 stages and one chronograph. A total of 500 million rupiah in prize money is at stake in the tournament.
