RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB) received 46.6 tons of aid targeting women and children. The assistance supports earthquake victims across seven affected districts in East Nusa Tenggara.
As quoted from BNPB press release, the aid was provided by the Ministry of Women Empowerment and Child Protection, as well as development partners. BNPB coordinates its distribution through the National Logistics Support Post.
The assistance was symbolically handed over by Minister of Women Empowerment and Child Protection, Arifatul Choiri Fauzi. She presented it to BNPB Deputy for System and Strategy, Raditya Jati in Jakarta, on Sunday, August 23, 2026.
“The government has moved quickly since the first day after the disaster,” Fauzi said. She affirmed that disaster response requires strong and effective collaboration.
The Ministry identified urgent needs specifically affecting women and children. Those needs were mapped with regional offices across seven affected districts.
The assistance includes nutrition supplies, bottled water, processed food, and ready-to-eat logistics. Sanitation and hygiene supplies include diapers, sanitary pads, soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, and lotion.
Additional supplies include clothing, prayer garments, towels, blankets, sarongs, and bedding. Educational materials include storybooks and coloring books supporting psychosocial needs.
The assistance followed internal coordination between government offices and affected districts. Development partners subsequently responded with strong commitments and solidarity for recovery efforts.
