RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta – RRI Voice of Indonesia (VOI), the international service of Radio Republik Indonesia (RRI), has released two new podcast episodes on Spotify starting Monday, August 18, 2026. The two episodes are part of the Indonesian public broadcaster’s expansion beyond its own platform, RRI Digital.
Since August 2026, RRI has produced a number of podcasts on Spotify covering a wide range of topics, most of which are published in Indonesian because RRI’s local stations produce them. Despite this, the VOI-produced episodes are released in English and can be found through searches on the platform.
One newly released episode is “Green Shores, Blue Seas: Saving Our Mangroves Together,” from the Lestari ("Sustainable") podcast. The other is “Garuda School: Where Indonesia’s Future Leaders Take Flight,” from the Ruang Publik (Public Room) podcast.
Other new podcasts are expected to be published on Spotify every several months in different RRI-published podcasts. Here are descriptions of the current episodes:
Green Shores, Blue Seas: Saving Our Mangroves Together
Indonesia’s largest city, Jakarta, isn’t just about skyscrapers and traffic. Beyond the city lights, the mangroves stand as the city’s natural shield against erosion, rising tides, and climate change.
VOI talked with a fisheries officer at the Jakarta Special Capital Region Government's Food, Marine and Agriculture Resilience Office, Putri Zulfania, and an activist at Jakarta Mangrove Community, Bayu Pamungkas. They share how government, communities, and youth are joining hands to protect and restore Jakarta’s mangroves.
This episode is now available on the Lestari podcast. Listen to this episode here, or search "Lestari RRI" on the Spotify search bar.
Garuda School: Where Indonesia’s Future Leaders Take Flight
To realize equal access to education and create world-class future leaders, especially in science and technology in Indonesia, the Indonesian government is running the Sekolah Garuda (Garuda School) program. It is named after a legendary bird that has become one of Indonesia’s national symbols.
VOI spoke with the country’s Vice Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology, Stella Christie, about how “Sekolah Garuda” is expected to shape a new generation of thinkers, innovators, and future leaders. She believes that the school could uncover Indonesia's next 'Einstein' and 'Marie Curie'.
This episode is now available on the Ruang Publik podcast. Listen to this episode here, or search "Ruang Publik RRI" on the Spotify search bar.
