RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta – Nearly all telecommunications infrastructure disrupted by the East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) earthquake has been restored, allowing connectivity services to resume and supporting communication needs in affected communities.
“As of August 18, 2026, 6 p.m. Jakarta time, 811 of the 812 sites/BTS affected by the earthquake have been successfully restored,” said Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs, Meutya Hafid, in Jakarta on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, as quoted by Antara.
The ministry identified 812 BTS sites affected across 11 regencies and cities in NTT. Only one site in Manggarai Regency remains under repair, while all other affected sites have fully recovered.
The government continues restoring telecommunications infrastructure to ensure public connectivity after the earthquake. A functioning network is essential for disaster management, information distribution, and community activities.
The ministry is accelerating repairs to the remaining BTS so that all affected infrastructure can resume operation.
Minister Meutya hopes that affected residents in NTT can recover quickly and return to normal activities. She also encouraged nationwide solidarity to support communities impacted by the disaster.
“Let’s work together in whatever ways we can to ease the burden on our brothers and sisters affected by the earthquake in NTT,” she said.

Following the disaster, the central government mobilized resources from ministries and agencies to expedite emergency response efforts, in line with instructions from President Prabowo Subianto and coordinated by the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture. ***
