RRI.CO.ID. Jakarta: The police humanitarian operation in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) continues to move swiftly. 100 personnel from the Mobile Brigade Corps, who departed from Soekarno-Hatta Airport on Saturday night, 15 August 2026, have now arrived in the affected areas. Led by Commissioner Hasripuddin, S.I.K., these reinforcement troops (BKO) Polda NTT troops were immediately deployed to reinforce search, rescue, and humanitarian aid distribution efforts for local communities.

The team is supported by medical personnel and ICT officers, and equipped with complete SAR gear. Their mission is clear: to locate victims, assist with evacuations, handle post-disaster response, and ensure humanitarian aid reaches those in need. Every officer has been assigned specific duties on the ground.

Upon arrival in NTT, the troops wasted no time. After roll call, strength checks, and task assignments, they moved directly to three main locations: the Leda Urata and Sambi Rampas posts under East Manggarai Police jurisdiction, and areas under Manggarai Police jurisdiction. At each site, Brimob personnel are coordinating with the NTT Regional Police and other stakeholders to strengthen SAR operations and post-disaster recovery based on field needs.

To support the operation, Polri brought comprehensive equipment including SAR helmets, carabiners, figure-eights, life jackets, webbing, harnesses, stretchers, body bags, Weber Lucas tools, chainsaws, medical kits, 14 tents, and modern communication devices such as Starlink and Wontech. In addition, 250 packages of Polri emergency food rations were prepared to meet community food needs during the emergency response period.

Air support was also deployed directly by Polri. Helicopters and transport aircraft were mobilized to deploy personnel and deliver relief supplies to areas inaccessible by land. Through air routes, food supplies, medicine, tents, and SAR equipment were delivered straight to forward posts. Commissioner Hasripuddin and NTT Brimob Commander Commissioner Afrizal Asri, S.I.K., also accompanied the NTT Provincial leadership council (Forkopimda) in distributing humanitarian aid to residents of Gorontalo Village, Komodo District, West Manggarai Regency.

Reinforcements go beyond Brimob. Polri has also deployed 10 K9 units with 21 Police Animal personnel, including handlers, veterinarians, and K9 paramedics, to assist in victim searches at earthquake disaster areas in NTT. DVI teams, medical services, psychosocial support, Watergen units, and additional air transportation are on standby. All resources are being mobilized gradually according to developments in the field to ensure aid is delivered effectively.

Head of the Public Information Bureau of Polri’s Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko, S.I.K., M.I.Kom., stated that this operation reflects the state’s presence. “They departed from Jakarta at night, and upon arrival in NTT, personnel immediately moved to the field. Polri is not only conducting SAR, but also ensuring that food, medicine, and other aid reach the communities in need,” he said. With troops already deployed and air support continuously flowing in, Polri is committed to ensuring that earthquake victims in NTT do not face this disaster alone.
