RRI.CO.ID, Makassar – Barombong Polytechnic of Maritime Studies (Poltekpel Barombong) has strengthened its public service standards by organizing the 2026 Public Consultation Forum (FKP) and Public Service Standards Review as part of efforts to improve professional, transparent, accountable, and user-oriented public services.

Speaking on behalf of the Director of Poltekpel Barombong at the opening ceremony in Makassar on Thursday, August 6, 2026, Head of Finance, General Affairs, and Cooperation Isman Djulfi said the forum serves as a strategic platform to foster two-way communication between service providers, the public, and other stakeholders.

“The forum serves as a strategic platform to build two-way communication between service providers, the public, and stakeholders, ensuring that every policy and service standard we establish truly reflects the needs and expectations of service users,” Isman said in a written statement received in Jakarta on Friday, August 7, 2026.

He emphasized that improving service quality cannot rely solely on internal evaluations but also requires input from the public, service users, partners, businesses, industries, and relevant government institutions to refine service standards.

The Public Consultation Forum is mandated under the Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform Regulation No. 16 of 2017 on Guidelines for Organizing Public Consultation Forums within Public Service Provider Units. Through the forum, public service providers and stakeholders engage in dialogue and exchange views to formulate recommendations for continuous service improvement.

As part of the initiative, Poltekpel Barombong has been designated as a pilot project for implementing the Public Consultation Forum within the Ministry of Transportation’s Human Resources Development Agency (BPSDMP). The designation is expected to produce documented best practices that can be replicated by other technical implementation units.

The forum featured speakers from various institutions, including Dwi Triswanto, Senior Policy Analyst at the Ministry of Transportation’s Center for Sustainable Transportation Management; Supardi, Head of Academic Administration and Cadet Affairs at Poltekpel Barombong; H. Hery Sumiharto, Head of the Vocational High School Division of the South Sulawesi Provincial Education Office; and Ismu Iskandar, Head of the South Sulawesi Representative Office of the Indonesian Ombudsman.

Through the 2026 Public Consultation Forum and Public Service Standards Review, BPSDMP expects to generate constructive recommendations to enhance service standards while encouraging innovation in public services that are adaptive, transparent, accountable, and focused on public satisfaction.
