RRI.CO.ID, Yogyakarta - Indonesia has begun preparing prospective Flag-Raising Troops for the 81st Independence Day celebration. One of the regional training programs officially started in Yogyakarta on Saturday, August 1, 2026.
The Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY) launched its centralized education and training program for 38 selected students. The participants represent five regencies and municipalities across the province.
The 20-day program runs from August 1 until August 20, 2026. Training combines character development, discipline, leadership, and ceremonial skills through a residential system.
The opening ceremony was led by Regional Secretary of the Special Region of Yogyakarta, Ni Made Dwipanti Indrayanti. She delivered remarks on behalf of Deputy Governor of the Special Region of Yogyakarta, Paku Alam X.
Ni Made said the training period should become a process of building character and responsibility. She encouraged participants to prepare themselves for serving the nation with discipline and integrity.
“Obey the instructions of trainers and supervisors. Maintain your health, solidarity, and the good name of yourselves, your families, schools, and the Special Region of Yogyakarta,” she said.
She also reminded participants that raising the Indonesian flag carries deep national meaning and responsibility. The flag represents the prayers of the nation's founders, heroes' sacrifices, and the hopes of millions of Indonesians.
“Stand firm. Purify your intentions. Train your body, strengthen your mentality, and uphold good character. Happy training. Show your best for yourselves, your families, schools, the Special Region of Yogyakarta, and the Republic of Indonesia," she added.
Head of the Regional National Unity and Politics Agency (Kesbangpol) of the Special Region of Yogyakarta, Lilik Andi Aryanto, said the program strengthens leadership and national values. It also prepares future national leaders with the spirit of Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution.
Participants will train at the Center for Teachers and Education Personnel (BBGTK) and the Pancasila Monument Field. They will also complete rehearsal sessions before serving at the 81st Indonesian Independence Day ceremony at the Yogyakarta Presidential Palace.
