RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Air Force Chief of Staff, Air Marshal TNI M. Tonny Harjono, inaugurated the TNI Air Force Hospital (RSAU) Prof. dr. Abdulrachman Saleh in Jakarta, Wednesday, July 1, 2026. This effort was undertaken to strengthen the operational readiness of the Indonesian Air Force thru the enhancement of the healthcare system.

The Air Force Chief affirmed that air power is not only determined by modern defense equipment and professional soldiers, but also supported by a health system capable of maintaining operational readiness sustainably.

"One of the most important foundations is a reliable healthcare system," he said.

According to him, the experience of facing the pandemic shows that health threats can affect personnel readiness and organizational effectiveness, so strengthening health services has become an inseparable part of building the strength of the Indonesian Air Force.

"The inauguration of the hospital today is not just about presenting new facilities, but marking a sustainable responsibility to deliver real benefits," he said.

He explained that the experience of facing the pandemic taught that health threats can affect personnel readiness and organizational effectiveness. Therefore, strengthening healthcare services has become an inseparable part of building the strength of the Indonesian Air Force.

The Chief of Air Force Staff hopes that RSAU Prof. dr. Abdulrachman Saleh can develop into a center of excellence in handling infectious diseases within the Indonesian Air Force. In addition, the hospital is also expected to become a center for the development of competence, research, and innovation in the field of health.

Besides, the presence of RSAU Prof. dr. Abdulrachman Saleh is expected to further strengthen health service support for TNI AU personnel, thereby maintaining operational readiness sustainably while also providing broader benefits to the community.
