RRI.CO.ID, Surabaya – The Indonesia's Ministry of Transportation, through the Human Resources Development Agency for Transportation (BPSDMP), has organized Global Vocational Synergy 2026 as part of efforts to strengthen cooperation among vocational higher education institutions in preparing human resources capable of addressing global challenges.

Speaking at the opening of the event at the Surabaya Polytechnic of Shipping on Friday, Head of the Human Resources Development Agency for Transportation, Suharto, said the theme of Global Vocational Synergy reflects a shared commitment to strengthening vocational education while expanding cooperation networks at both the national and international levels.

“This reflects our spirit of working together to strengthen vocational education synergy while expanding cooperation networks at both the national and international levels in order to prepare human resources capable of meeting global challenges,” Suharto said in an official statement issued by the Ministry of Transportation in Jakarta on Saturday, June 6, 2026.

He noted that the world is currently facing major changes, ranging from climate change and energy crises to technological transformation, digitalization, and the growing demand for sustainable transportation development.

According to him, transportation should no longer be viewed solely as a means of moving people and goods, but also as a unifying force and a factor that can enhance Indonesia’s competitiveness on the global stage.

Suharto added that the transition toward net-zero emissions presents a shared challenge in building a more efficient transportation sector through energy conservation, the development of electric vehicles, and fuel diversification. He emphasized that the transformation of the transportation sector cannot be achieved without highly qualified, competent, adaptive, and globally minded human resources.

He stated that vocational education serves as the primary foundation for producing graduates who are skilled, disciplined, possess strong character, and demonstrate leadership capabilities.

Therefore, Global Vocational Synergy 2026 is not only a platform for competitions, seminars, and educational exhibitions, but also a forum for exchanging ideas, fostering innovation, building partnerships, and strengthening the capacity of Indonesia’s vocational education students.
