RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Indonesia's Ministry of Creative Economy continues to encourage the strengthening of the national intellectual property (IP) ecosystem through participation in the 2026 IP Expo. The Ministry of Creative Economy believes that the IP Expo is a strategic space for Indonesian creative actors to build networks, expand collaboration, and bring together local and international IP within a mutually supportive ecosystem.
In a press release received by RRI VOI from the Ministry of Creative Economy on Thursday, May 7, 2026, Vice Minister of Creative Economy, Irene Umar, assessed that the 2026 IP Expo is a platform for Indonesian IP to compete in the global market. "However, this expo must also be a place for Indonesian IP to explore collaborations with foreign IP to penetrate the international market," she said.
According to her, strengthening the creative economy requires an integrated blueprint to create sustainable economic growth based on creativity and culture. "Creativity has been viewed as purely creative and merely a hobby. The two must be combined. That's what we want to achieve," she explained.
At the IP Expo 2026, the Ministry of Creative Economy facilitated five Indonesian game industries to showcase their leading IPs. These included Gambir Studio with KuloNiku, Digital Happiness with DreadOut 3, Toge Productions with A Space for the Unbound, Segara with Sambelina, and Tabletoys with Sekata.
The presence of various local IPs is part of an effort to strengthen the exposure of Indonesian creative works in the international market while expanding opportunities for cross-border collaboration. Also in attendance were GDP Venture Investment Partner Antony Liem and Djarum Foundation Program Manager Galuh Paskamagma.
