RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Bima Arya Sugiarto has called on regional administrations to view National Strategic Programs (PSN) as opportunities to drive economic growth rather than burdens.

Speaking at the Jambi Province Regional Administration Work Plan (RKPD) Development Planning Meeting on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, Bima stressed that regional leaders must take the initiative and oversee the implementation of PSN to maximize its impact. “National strategic programs are a lever for regional progress, provided that regional heads take the initiative and oversee them,” he said in a statement on Friday, April 17, 2026, as quoted by Antara.

He explained that the central government continues to push cross‑sectoral priority programs, ranging from basic services to economic development. Their success, however, depends on how effectively regional administrations manage and integrate them. If optimized, PSN can generate a multiplier effect for local economies and improve community welfare.

Bima also urged regional leaders to treat global geopolitical dynamics not only as challenges but as opportunities for transformation. He emphasized that leadership quality is tested in uncertain times, as regions must adapt and adopt more effective work patterns to seize opportunities. “This is where the quality of regional leadership is tested, whether leaders can identify opportunities or remain passive,” he said.

Highlighting Jambi’s economic potential, Bima pointed to the coconut plantation sector, noting that downstream processing and increased added value could be key strategies for boosting growth. He hopes that Jambi can serve as a model for other provinces in leveraging national programs to accelerate regional development.

The Jambi RKPD meeting focused on accelerating investment productivity and downstreaming to promote inclusive, sustainable, and competitive economic growth. ***
