RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Indonesian-made game KuloNiku: Bowl Up! has drawn international attention after earning an “Overwhelmingly Positive” rating on the Steam platform, based on more than 500 user reviews. The achievement came just five days after its launch on April 7, 2026.

Creative Economy Ministry Teuku Riefky Harsya praised the milestone, calling it proof of Indonesia’s creative talent on the global stage. “The success of KuloNiku: Bowl Up! shows that our youths’ work can compete internationally by showcasing the richness of local culture,” he said in an official statement on Tuesday, April 14.

He added that the game demonstrates how the creative economy can serve as a new driver of national growth. The cooking simulation was developed by Gambir Studio, based in Sleman, Yogyakarta, in collaboration with Swedish publisher Raw Fury.

The ministry described the release as a new milestone, noting that KuloNiku: Bowl Up! is the first Indonesian game published by Raw Fury.

The title highlights Indonesian culinary culture, featuring bakso (meatballs) and the iconic chicken-adorned bowl, presented in a visually engaging format. All assets, including illustrations, 3D models, music, and programming, were created by Indonesian talent.

Founded in 2016, Gambir Studio has built a reputation for culinary-themed games. Its mobile titles, Selera Nusantara and Warung Seblak Nusantara, have been downloaded more than 10 million times in total.

In KuloNiku: Bowl Up!, players manage a legendary bakso restaurant in the fictional city of Kuloniku, take on culinary challenges, and compete against rivals in cooking competitions. Features include recipe exploration, restaurant upgrades, and interactions with local characters.

The game is available on PC and Mac via Steam for IDR 104,999 (USD 6.13), with a 20 percent discount until April 21. It has also received a 3+ age rating from the Indonesian Game Rating System (IGRS). (Gusti Panji/Lasti Martina)
