RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Vice Minister of Defense of Republic of Indonesia, Donny Ermawan Taufanto stated that Indonesia’s situation remains safe although the escalation of conflict in the Middle East region is intensifying. He said that the Indonesian people are still able to carry out the fasting and activities in the holy month of Ramadan without any security threats.

“Thank God, the situation in Indonesia is still safe, unlike what is currently happening in the Middle East where people cannot enjoy the month of Ramadan as we do in Indonesia,” he said while opening the Eid al-Fitr bazaar event at the Ministry of Defense, Jakarta, Tuesday, 10 March 2026.

Moreover, Donny said that Indonesia’s safe condition amid the war between Iran, the United States, and Israel is a blessing from God. “This is a blessing that we must also be grateful for,” he said.

In front of all Ministry of Defense officials attending the bazaar, Donny invited everyone to express gratitude for the blessings granted by Allah the All Mighty, especially the blessings of good health and the freedom to breathe oxygen.

“We are still healthy, we can still breathe oxygen, these are blessings given by Allah to us. Therefore, we must continuously remain grateful,” he said.

Donny conveyed that the Dharma Wanita Persatuan (DWP) of the Ministry of Defense is able to organize the Eid al-Fitr Bazaar ahead of the end of Ramadan and the long Eid holiday.

The bazaar was also attended by Minister of Defense Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin. The Minister and his Vice Minister also walked around the bazaar area and greeted each stall owner selling various products at discounted prices, including basic necessities such as rice, flour, cooking oil, and meat. At the bazaar, thousands of employees of the Ministry of Defense are able to shop at lower prices.

“I think this is a very good event to improve the welfare of our members. The affordable prices also help, as sources are sought so that with the same amount of money, members can gain greater benefits,” Donny stated.

In addition to the discounted bazaar, Donny said that around 7,000 employees of the Ministry of Defense have now received their Holiday Allowance (THR) which is expected to meet their needs ahead of Eid al-Fitr.

“Please make good use of the THR. Although the amount may not be large, it reflects how much our Minister of Defense cares for all our members around 7,000 of them who have all received THR. Please use the allowance to prepare for the holiday,” he said. (AF)
