FLONA 2026 Brings Indonesia’s Biodiversity to Life in Jakarta

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta – For flora and fauna lovers in Jakarta, the Flora and Fauna (FLONA) Expo 2026 offers a refreshing destination to explore and enjoy. The festival runs through September 28, with visitors welcome daily from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. for free.

This year’s theme, “Nusantara Roots Growing in Jakarta,” celebrates biodiversity, local wisdom, and cultural identity across Indonesia today. It brings communities, businesses, and environmental groups together in one green space for visitors to discover and learn.

Taking place at Lapangan Banteng in Central Jakarta, the festival goes beyond a traditional exhibition, creating opportunities for environmental education and public engagement through interactive activities. Visitors can learn about Indonesia’s biodiversity while exploring Jakarta’s green spaces and natural heritage in one place.

More than 200 tenants and community groups are participating, offering plants, bonsai, fauna education, and urban farming displays. The plant section features ornamental varieties, shade trees, bonsai collections, and rare species for enthusiasts of all ages.

Families can visit the educational fauna area, designed to introduce children to animals and conservation through engaging experiences. Urban farming workshops also offer practical ideas for growing food and greenery in city environments with simple techniques.

The festival also features Indonesian culinary stalls and eco-friendly MSME products for visitors seeking local flavors and shopping. Music performances, cultural shows, and creative family competitions add entertainment to the festival experience.
