RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesia is seeking to expand trade opportunities with Mongolia by connecting businesses from both countries, with Indonesian products such as coffee and seaweed being introduced as potential additions to bilateral trade.

The Indonesian Embassy (KBRI) in Beijing facilitated a business forum bringing together Indonesian and Mongolian business representatives as part of the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

"Agreements reached by the business communities of our two countries are the factor that transforms the aspirations of our two great nations into tangible results that benefit the wider community," Indonesian Ambassador to China and Mongolia Djauhari Oratmangun said in Ulan Bator on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, as quoted by Antara.

"The government sets the framework, but you, as the main drivers of cooperation, both individuals and business actors, build the bridge," he said.

Djauhari made the remarks at the business forum titled "70 Years of Partnership: A New Era of Cooperation," which was attended by around 35 business representatives from Indonesia and Mongolia, both in person and online.

Indonesia and Mongolia established diplomatic relations on December 21, 1956. Deputy Chief of Mission at the embassy Irene said the forum aimed to turn aspirations into meaningful collaboration and produce tangible results.

Indonesian businesses offered products including coffee and seaweed as part of efforts to diversify trade with Mongolia.

Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in China (INACHAM), Liky Sutikno, said the businesses representatives included those engaged in packaged coffee products.

"Products include 3-in-1 coffee, ground coffee and drip coffee. So, people in Mongolia can choose whichever they prefer," said Liky, who also represents coffee company Kapal Api.

Liky made the statement during the same business forum that brought together around 35 business representatives from Indonesia and Mongolia, both in person and online. ***
