Indonesia Attends the 10th ASEAN-Hong Kong China Consultation Meeting

RRI.CO.ID, Pasay City – Indonesia's Vice Minister of Trade, Dyah Roro Esti Widya Putri, attended the 10th ASEAN-Hong Kong, China Consultation Meeting. The meeting took place in Pasay City, the Philippines, on Sunday, September 20, 2026.

She stated that Indonesia emphasizes the importance of strengthening ASEAN-Hong Kong, China economic cooperation. She underscored this, particularly through deepening trade and investment relations and enhancing regional supply chain resilience.

The Vice Minister also stated that Indonesia views the First Protocol to Amend the ASEAN-Hong Kong, China Free Trade Agreement (AHKFTA) as a vital step to improve the implementation of the agreement. She noted this especially regarding rules of origin.

"Particularly regarding rules of origin to facilitate trade for our business actors," Roro said, as quoted from the ministry's photo news on Sunday, September 20, 2026.

Regarding this matter, Indonesia has submitted its instrument of full powers. In this regard, the Indonesian Minister of Trade is prepared to sign the protocol.

Previously, Roro witnessed the signing of the ASEAN-Hong Kong, China Investment Agreement. On that occasion, she was accompanied by the Director General of International Trade Negotiations, Johni Martha, and the Director of ASEAN Negotiations, Nugraheni Prasetya Hastuti.

The 10th ASEAN-Hong Kong, China Consultation Meeting discussed, among others, the progress in the implementation of the ASEAN-Hong Kong, China Free Trade Agreement (AHKFTA) and ASEAN-Hong Kong, China Investment Agreement (AHKIA). The Meeting also recognised the important role of the AHKFTA Economic and Technical Cooperation (ECOTECH) Work Programmes in fostering practical cooperation and deepening economic collaboration among AHKFTA Parties.
