President Prabowo Invites BRICS to Industrialize Together at India Summit

RRI.CO.ID, New Delhi – Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto called on all BRICS member states to pursue joint industrialization to optimize the strengths each country already possesses. He said BRICS members already have significant assets in the form of resources, production capacity, and complementary economic strengths, which can serve as a foundation for strengthening BRICS' position in global value chains.

"BRICS is already a supply chain. Our task is to connect and optimize it so these existing strengths can become a source of greater value for all of us," Prabowo said in an open session at the 2026 BRICS Summit in New Delhi, India, on Sunday, September 13, 2026.

"Therefore, let me offer something concrete. Let us industrialize together, and let us optimize the resources and capacities that we hold together," he continued.

President Prabowo cited his own country as an example, saying Indonesia is transforming from a major importer of rice, corn, and grains into an exporter that can contribute to global food supplies. He said this demonstrates Indonesia's ability to turn limitations into capacity through the development and strengthening of national capabilities.

"Indonesia for many years was the biggest importer of grain, of rice and of maze. Now we are an exporter and we will be able to increase the support for the entire world," Prabowo said.

"It can make the green economy an opportunity and strengthen our position in global value chains," he said.

Prabowo said that the interconnected global challenges should not be viewed merely as obstacles. With strong cooperation, these challenges can be turned into opportunities to boost investment, strengthen industries, create more jobs, and provide better opportunities for the people.

"Growth that reaches millions of our people will make our nations more resilient," he said.
