“Through Jumbo, we hope that more people in the United States will come to know Indonesia through the creative works of our nation’s talents,” said Indonesian Consul General in Houston, Ourina Ritonga, in a written statement on Saturday, August 22, 2026.
She said that the screening, held at a cinema in Houston, Texas, on Friday, August 21, 2026, local time, was part of a series of events commemorating Indonesia’s 81st Independence Day. According to Ourina, Jumbo is among Indonesian animated films that have recorded significant achievements in the regional film industry.
