Ministry of Creative Economy Applauds TIFF 2026

RRI.CO.ID, Tomohon - Vice Minister of Creative Economy/Deputy Head of the Creative Economy Agency (Ekraf),Irene Umar, commended the Tomohon International Flower Festival (TIFF) 2026. The event demonstrates the City of Tomohon's commitment to showcasing its local, floriculture-based identity on the international stage.

"This festival illustrates how a small city like Tomohon can gain global recognition—not merely as a 'flower city,' but as a city with unique specialties such as the Krisan Kulo and Krisan Riri chrysanthemum varieties. I hope that in the future, we will see even more international and domestic tourists visiting here," the Vice Minister said while attending the opening of TIFF 2026 in Tomohon, North Sulawesi, on Saturday, August 8, 2026.

Held annually since 2008, the festival features a "Tournament of Flowers"—a parade of 35 floats adorned with fresh blooms from local farmers. Additionally, the event includes tourism exhibitions, cultural performances, and initiatives to empower local businesses, all aimed at promoting Tomohon as a flower city.

"The impact is certainly significant. People come here not just to watch the festival; there are also business-to-business (B2B) matching sessions, trade activities, and investment opportunities taking place," he noted.
