RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesia has reaffirmed its position as a vocal advocate for Palestinian rights, joining seven Arab and Muslim countries in condemning Israel’s ongoing violations in Gaza.
A joint statement issued on Thursday, August 6, 2026, highlighted attacks on health facilities, civilian infrastructure, and the killing of civilians -- including women and children -- as grave breaches of international law.
Foreign ministers from Egypt, Qatar, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, Pakistan, Turkey, and Saudi Arabia said the violations undermine regional and global efforts to end the war in Gaza and risk triggering new cycles of escalation.
They warned that the continued attacks could derail political processes and worsen the humanitarian crisis, Antara reported.
Indonesia’s participation in the declaration reflects its consistent diplomatic stance on Palestine. Indonesia has long rejected any attempts at annexation of occupied territories, the imposition of Israeli sovereignty, or forced displacement of Palestinians.
The statement reiterated that a just and lasting peace must begin with a serious political process leading to a two-state solution based on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as the capital of a sovereign Palestinian state.
The ministers also urged the UN Security Council to fulfill its legal and moral responsibilities by ensuring accountability for violations and securing a permanent ceasefire.
