KRI I Gusti Ngurah Rai-332 Docks in Busan on Its Way to ORRUDA 2026 Joint Exercise

RRI.CO.ID, The Indonesian Warship (KRI) I Gusti Ngurah Rai-332 (KRI GNR-332), under the Second Fleet Command, made a port visit at Busan Naval Base, Republic of Korea, on Sunday, July 19, 2026. as part of its voyage to Vladivostok, Russia, to participate in the ORRUDA 2026 Joint Exercise with the Russian Navy.
Upon arrival at Busan Naval Base, KRI GNR-332 and the ORRUDA 2026 Joint Exercise Task Force received a warm welcome from the Assistant Defense Attaché of the Republic of Indonesia to the Republic of Korea, Major (Marines) Muhammad Fakhrul, Commander Ji Young, Commanding Officer of Host Ship Gongju, and Major KOO Seonmo, Person in Charge (PIC) of the Republic of Korea Fleet Command.
As quoted by tni.mil.id, the welcoming ceremony symbolized the close friendship and defense cooperation between Indonesia and the Republic of Korea.
The ORRUDA 2026 Joint Exercise Task Force is led by the Commanding Officer of KRI I Gusti Ngurah Rai-332, Colonel Ahmad Makmur Ikhlas, as Task Force Commander, with Lieutenant Colonel Angga Radiansyah serving as the Safety Officer. Throughout the voyage, all personnel have continuously conducted inspections of both equipment and personnel readiness to ensure the ship and its crew remain in optimal condition before commencing the exercise series in Russia.
When in Busan, it is also utilized for replenishment, technical inspections of the ship, and strengthening professional ties with the Republic of Korea Navy. These activities form an essential part of maintaining the operational readiness of KRI GNR-332 before continuing its voyage to Vladivostok.
KRI I Gusti Ngurah Rai-332's participation in the ORRUDA 2026 Joint Exercise reflects the Indonesian Navy's commitment to maritime diplomacy. Even, it also enhances the professionalism of its personnel through combined training with the Russian Navy.
In addition to strengthening interoperability, Indonesia's participation in the exercise is expected to further reinforce bilateral cooperation between the two countries in the fields of defense and maritime security.
