The Launch of PERSAHAN Enhances Indonesia-Singapore Defense Cooperation

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesia and Singapore continuously reinforce defense relations thru the launch of the Indonesia–Singapore Defense Alumni (INDOSIN) or Defense Alumni Friendship (PERSAHAN). The initiative serves as a platform to strengthen relationships among military personnel while also enhancing defense cooperation between the two countries.

The launch of PERSAHAN was conducted by the Indonesian Minister of Defense, Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, along with the Singaporean Minister of Defense, Chan Chun Sing, during the Indonesia–Singapore Defense Alumni Launch Ceremony at the Singapore Armed Forces Day Reception 2026 in Jakarta, Tuesday, July 14, 2026.

The event was also attended by the Chief of Air Force Staff (Kasau) Air Marshal TNI M. Tonny Harjono, TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto, the heads of the Armed Forces, high-ranking TNI officials, as well as diplomatic and defense officials from both Indonesia and Singapore.

In a press release received by RRI VOI, Wednesday, July 15, 2026. PERSAHAN brings together TNI officers and the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) who have undergone education or training in their respective countries. Thru this forum, both countries strive to strengthen interpersonal relationships, build professional networks, and maintain continuity in communication and defense cooperation across generations.

The initiative is also expected to further strengthen mutual trust and understanding between Indonesia and Singapore, while expanding synergies in addressing security dynamics in the region.

The continuously evolving defense cooperation is considered one of the important foundations in maintaining the stability of the bilateral relations between the two countries. Thru sustained collaboration, Indonesia and Singapore are committed to strengthening their mutually beneficial strategic partnership.

The partnership is expected to make a tangible contribution to peace, security, and stability in the region, while also reinforcing the bilateral relations between Indonesia and Singapore in the future.
