RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesian students promoted traditional dance, cuisine, and batik at the Global Village event organized by AIESEC in Tunisia on March 6, 2026, to strengthen cultural exchange between the two countries. The information was received in Jakarta on Sunday, March 8, 2026.

The Global Village by AIESEC Tunisia–Medina was attended by students from various countries who introduced their cultural identities through cross-cultural exhibitions.

Indonesian students highlighted the richness of their culture with a performance of the Saman dance from Aceh, an exhibition of Nusantara cuisine, and displays of cultural accessories at their booth.

The booth attracted visitors with decorations featuring traditional Nusantara ornaments, while students wore traditional attire and showcased batik fabric as part of Indonesia’s cultural promotion.

The Saman dance performance received enthusiastic applause from visitors for its synchronized and rhythmic movements. The event was also attended by Tunisian content creators, including Ali Batta, Ahmed Mekni, and Monath Jihed, who contributed to the lively atmosphere.

Indonesian student representative Presinta Kusuma said the event provided an opportunity to introduce Indonesia’s cultural diversity to international students. “Indonesia is a country rich in culture, beautiful landscapes, and diverse ethnic groups and traditions. This is an opportunity that cannot be missed to introduce that diversity,” she said, as quoted by Antara.

A representative of the Indonesian Students Association in Tunisia, Yahya Ayyasy Assayyaf, stated that the Indonesian diaspora would continue to support activities that promote Indonesian culture internationally.

He added that cross-cultural events such as Global Village can strengthen cultural diplomacy and foster closer ties between the people of Indonesia and Tunisia by involving the younger generation. ***
