RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta – The Minister of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection (menPPPA), Arifah Fauzi, received a visit from a Kuwaiti delegation to strengthen international cooperation in the field of women's empowerment and child protection, on Saturday, 07 February 2026. This meeting is part of efforts to strengthen the synergy between Indonesia and Kuwait.

"This meeting is an important momentum to strengthen cooperation between Indonesia and Kuwait, especially in efforts to empower women and protect children through concrete and sustainable collaboration," Arifah conveyed.

In the meeting, the Minister of PPPA emphasized the importance of strengthening family caregiving as the main foundation for child protection. According to the minister, the weakening of caregiving patterns, the influence of social media, and the reduction of social interactions can significantly impact the quality of children's growth and development.

Meanwhile, in the field of education, Minister Arifah highlighted the strategic role of teachers in remote areas, who still face limitations in welfare as well as facilities and infrastructure. Strengthening support for educators is deemed important to ensure that children continue to receive quality educational services.

In future cooperation, the potential for collaboration in strengthening the capacity of madrasah teachers in remote areas was also discussed, through a pilot project to support teacher welfare and improve educational facilities and infrastructure.

"If possible, we should start projects in remote areas where the teachers are highly motivated despite in limited resources." We need to strengthen these teachers so they can focus on teaching," she said.

In addition, special attention is also given to the support of children whose parents work abroad, as well as the handling of children and women in disaster-affected areas thru trauma healing programs and women's economic empowerment.

"One more thing, maybe we can start in the disaster areas of Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra on how we provide trauma healing for children and then economic empowerment for women." Aceh can be our priority because they are the most affected, so we can support them for strengthening or empowerment," Arifah stated.

Meanwhile, the Director General of the International Islamic Charitable Organization (IICO) Kuwait, Badr Saud Al-Sumait, stated that there is a shared focus between IICO and the Ministry of Women Empowerment and Child Protection (Kemen PPPA), particularly on issues concerning children and women.

"We share the same concerns as the Ministry of PPPA, one of which is the significant impact of social media." Forums like this open up opportunities for cooperation in both educational and economic aspects, focusing on children and women," Badr Saud Al-Sumait said.
