GFSR 2026 Pushes Sustainable Resilience into Concrete Action

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta – Jakarta hosted the opening of the 3rd Global Forum for Sustainable Resilience (GFSR) and ADEXCO 2026 on Wednesday, September 9, 2026. The forum was organized by the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) in cooperation with several partners to promote resilience in facing various risks.

Held from September 9 to 10, the third GFSR aims to move discussions from concepts to implementation while delivering tangible impacts for communities. BNPB Deputy for Systems and Strategy, Raditya Jati, said the forum focuses on three main priorities.

The first priority is architectural integration, aimed at strengthening the involvement of the government and communities so that various institutions can work together rather than operate independently.

“Second, aligning capital. Priorities in climate financing, disaster risk financing, and development financing can be better connected to support long-term resilience focused on prevention,” Raditya said, as quoted from an official statement.

The third priority is achieving sustainable resilience. Global commitments and national strategies are expected to be translated into locally led actions that are trusted by communities and produce measurable outcomes.

“This is not an abstract challenge. This is a challenge that determines whether resilience policies truly make a difference in people’s lives,” he said.

Raditya further said the third GFSR also provides an opportunity to assess progress, identify remaining gaps, and translate the lessons of the past 20 years into resilience strategies for the next generation.

Alongside the GFSR, ADEXCO 2026 is bringing together the government, industry, technology developers, practitioners, academicians, civil society, and international partners. The exhibition showcases disaster management solutions, ranging from preparedness and emergency response to recovery.

“We are very happy to see participation continuing to increase this year, with 152 exhibiting companies from nine countries, demonstrating growing interest in disaster management technologies and solutions. However, we must remember that technology is not the end goal of everything,” Raditya Jati said.

Through the two events, BNPB is calling on all stakeholders to strengthen partnerships and turn knowledge and innovation into concrete action. “Let us use this platform to renew our collective commitment, align our efforts, and transform knowledge and innovation into concrete action,” he said.
