RRI.CO.ID, Batang - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto, emphasized environmental preservation while driving the country's transformation into an advanced one. According to him, industrial development, boosting food security, and even residential development must continue to prioritize environmental sustainability as the foundation of national development.

"We want to transform the nation. That means we need many downstream industries, many factories, and many processing breakthroughs. We need food security, food resilience, and food self-sufficiency. We've achieved this; we must secure it. The world is full of uncertainty; we must secure that. We must secure energy; we must secure all of it," Prabowo said at an event in Batang Regency, Central Java, on Thursday, July 30, 2026.

He stressed that the transformation agenda must be balanced with a commitment to maintaining environmental quality. According to him, waste management and environmental protection are crucial steps to address the challenges of climate change while simultaneously improving people's quality of life.

"This means we must control waste, and God willing, in the next year or two, we will make drastic changes; we will control waste. By the end of 2027, Indonesia's waste problem will be resolved. There will be no more mountains of garbage, (and) we will achieve this," the president said.

Furthermore, Prabowo also invited all elements of society to make cleanliness a collective movement. On the occasion, he announced plans to provide incentives to localities that successfully maintain environmental cleanliness, while also encouraging the provision of supporting facilities and reforestation.

"We will provide incentives later for the cleanest city," he said. Prabowo further said that the government will continue to support environmental conservation efforts by providing sanitation facilities, planting hundreds of millions of trees, and encouraging the creation of healthy, comfortable, and sustainable residential environments.

According to him, Indonesia's transformation is measured not only by economic and industrial progress, but also by the nation's ability to maintain cleanliness, beauty, and environmental sustainability for future generations. "If the number of trees has decreased significantly, we will plant hundreds of millions of trees. I ask the Minister of Agriculture and the Minister of Forestry to build nurseries. I need good tree seeds for all our cities and regencies," Prabowo said.
