RRI.CO.ID, Tangerang – The Indonesia International Search and Rescue Exhibition, Forum and Challenge (IISAR) 2026 officially opened at the Nusantara International Convention Exhibition (NICE), PIK 2, Tangerang, on Thursday, July 9, 2026. The event, held from July 9 to 12, 2026, brings together government representatives, search and rescue agencies, humanitarian organizations, representatives of friendly countries, academics, technology industry players, and SAR communities from Indonesia and abroad.
IISAR 2026 is being held to strengthen collaboration, enhance human resource capacity, and encourage innovation in the field of Search and Rescue (SAR). These efforts are considered essential in responding to increasingly complex emergencies and disaster threats.
The international event features three main programs: a SAR technology exhibition, an international discussion forum, and a rescue skills challenge involving professional SAR practitioners.
Through these programs, participants can exchange experiences, introduce the latest technologies, and strengthen rescue standards and operating procedures in line with field requirements. The technologies on display range from emergency communication systems and evacuation equipment to modern SAR operational methods.
In addition to serving as a platform for exchanging knowledge and technology, IISAR 2026 also provides public education on the importance of preparedness and a culture of safety.
The event also provides Indonesia with an opportunity to demonstrate its active role in building global humanitarian cooperation networks. Collaboration among countries, government institutions, humanitarian organizations, academics, and the private sector is considered key to improving the effectiveness of emergency response.
In disaster management, the success of an emergency response does not depend solely on the capabilities of a single institution. The involvement of all stakeholders through a pentahelix approach—comprising the government, communities, businesses, academics, and the media—is necessary to build a resilient disaster management system.
Therefore, the capacity of SAR personnel and interoperability among institutions must continue to be strengthened through training, forums, and international cooperation initiatives such as IISAR 2026.
