RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesia’s Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology, held a three-kilometer healthy walk with employees on Sunday August 23 as part of celebrations marking the 81st anniversary of Indonesia’s independence. The activity took place from the ministry’s office complex to the Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) sports area in Jakarta.
The event was attended by Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology Brian Yuliarto, Vice Ministers Fauzan and Stella Christie, as well as employees and their families. The activity provided an opportunity for ministry personnel to interact and strengthen bonds beyond their daily work routines.
Brian said togetherness is essential to building stronger teamwork and improving public services within the ministry. “Today, we are gathering to celebrate our togetherness and the 81st anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia,” he said.
He added that the event could serve as an opportunity for employees to get to know one another, interact and build stronger relationships. “Hopefully, this will make us more united and enable us to serve the nation better,” he said.
The healthy walk covered a three-kilometer route and took approximately 40 minutes. Participants started at the Kemdiktisaintek office, walked around the main stadium area of Gelora Bung Karno, and then returned to the ministry’s office.
The activity allowed ministry employees from different units to communicate and interact in a more relaxed atmosphere. Stronger communication and relationships across units are expected to support better coordination in carrying out the ministry’s responsibilities.
Beyond strengthening workplace relationships, the activity also encouraged employees to maintain physical fitness and health. The ministry said maintaining fitness is important to ensure its personnel remain prepared to carry out their duties and responsibilities.
The healthy walk was part of the Ministry's activities commemorating Indonesia’s 81st Independence Day. The ministry hopes the spirit of togetherness developed through the event will continue in the workplace, enabling its personnel to work cohesively and provide their best service and contribution to the nation.
