RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Indonesian government under President Prabowo Subianto is seeking to strengthen human development as the foundation for achieving the vision of Golden Indonesia 2045. In line with the objective, Vice President Gibran Rakabuming received a delegation from the Indonesian Scholarship Network Association (AJBI) at the Vice Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Wednesday, 22 July 2026.

"The meeting focused on strengthening the national scholarship ecosystem through greater collaboration among scholarship providers, while also promoting more equitable access to quality education, particularly for young people in Eastern Indonesia," the Vice Presidential Secretariat said on Wednesday.

The initiative is expected to produce highly skilled individuals capable of meeting both regional and national development needs. Fasli Jalal, a representative of AJBI's Honorary Council, explained that AJBI serves as a bridge between various scholarship providers to ensure that scholarship programs are better coordinated, more effectively targeted, and able to reach a larger number of beneficiaries.

"This association organizes and fosters synergy among scholarship providers, from the central government and regional governments to companies that have long provided scholarships for the nation's youth, so that they can work together, share ideas on how to increase the number of scholarships, improve targeting, and ensure a fairer distribution," Fasli said after the meeting.

During the meeting, Gibran placed special emphasis on talent development in Eastern Indonesia. According to Fasli, the Vice President stressed the importance of strengthening the talent development ecosystem from an early stage by identifying promising students at the senior high school level, improving their language skills, assisting them throughout the scholarship application process, and aligning fields of study with the region's development needs.

"The Vice President also warmly welcomed the initiative and directed that it be linked to the human resource needs of Eastern Indonesia," Fasli said.

"He emphasized talent scouting starting from senior high school, language preparation, guidance on how students apply for scholarships, and identifying fields of study that may not yet be recognized by local communities as priorities but are actually needed for regional development," he concluded.
