RRI.CO.ID, Palu - Tadulako University (Untad) in Palu, Central Sulawesi, has received a significant academic boost with the donation of 3,048 books from the Chinese government, a contribution expected to enrich the university’s library and broaden scholarly references.
“This donation is part of strengthening international academic cooperation and global knowledge exchange,” Untad Rector Amar said in Palu on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, as quoted by Antara.
According to documents received by the university, the collection includes a wide range of titles, notably works discussing the ideas and policies of Chinese President Xi Jinping, such as The Governance of China series. Other volumes cover topics on state governance, economic development, international relations, and China’s modern transformation.
Amar emphasized that the books represent a strategic step in expanding campus literacy resources. He noted their academic value, particularly as references for students and lecturers seeking to understand alternative development models beyond Western paradigms.
The materials, he added, could support research in fields such as development economics, public policy, international relations, technology, and Asian studies.
“These collections also open opportunities for comparative analysis between China’s development model and Indonesia’s, especially in areas like regional development, industrialization, and natural resource management,” he explained.
Amar highlighted that China’s development success has been driven by planned and consistent governance rooted in long-term vision. This includes political stability, bureaucratic efficiency, data-based planning, economic reforms, infrastructure investment, technological innovation, and poverty alleviation programs.
“All of these ideas and policies are documented in the books that now form part of Tadulako University’s library collection,” he concluded.
The donation underscores the growing importance of academic exchange between Indonesia and China, while offering Untad students and faculty valuable resources to deepen their understanding of global development perspectives. ***
