October CPO Reference Price Rises 3.44 Percent to USD 1,042.15

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta – Indonesia has set the October 2026 reference price for crude palm oil (CPO) at USD 1,042.15 per metric ton, marking a 3.44 percent increase from September’s USD 1,007.51.

The adjustment, which determines export duties and levies, reflects stronger average prices across regional and global exchanges.

Director General of Foreign Trade at the Ministry of Trade, Tommy Andana, explained that the rise in the reference price triggered a CPO export duty of USD 178 per MT and an export levy of 12.5 percent, equivalent to USD 130.27 per MT for October.

“The CPO reference price for October 2026 increased compared with September," Tommy said, as quoted on the ministry's official website.

He noted that the calculation follows Finance Ministry regulations, with the export duty referring to PMK No. 38/2024 in conjunction with PMK No. 68/2025, and the levy based on PMK No. 69/2025 in conjunction with PMK No. 9/2026.

The October reference price was derived from average CPO values between August 20 and September 19, 2026: USD 938.89 per MT on the Indonesia CPO Exchange, USD 1,145.42 per MT on the Malaysia CPO Exchange, and USD 1,526.56 per MT at Rotterdam Port.

Under Trade Ministry Regulation No. 35/2025, if the price gap among the three sources exceeds USD 40, the reference is calculated using the two closest median values. For October, this meant using the Malaysia and Indonesia exchanges, resulting in the final figure of USD 1,042.15 per MT.

In addition, branded refined, bleached, and deodorized (RBD) palm olein packaged at net weights of 25 kilograms or less will face an export duty of USD 48 per MT, as stipulated in Trade Ministry Decree No. 1922/2026. ***
